Presenting a 1973 BMW 2002 Tii that’s aged better than most of us. This Bavarian beauty is a two-owner time capsule that’s spent its entire life soaking up the sun (and dodging rust) in the dry, car-friendly climate of San Diego, California. With over half a century under its belt, this Tii still sports its original Glasurit paint—and yes, it still looks fantastic.

Think of it as the automotive equivalent of your friend who somehow still fits into their high school jeans. The original interior? Also in amazing shape and complete with working A/C, because even legends deserve to stay cool.

Back in the early ’80s, the second owner got a little wild and added an AM/FM cassette stereo and some driving lights. We forgive him. That’s the extent of the “mods,” if you can even call them that.

Under my careful stewardship, the car has been lovingly detailed from undercarriage to roofline. Every surface has been cleaned, polished, and pampered, and all mechanical gremlins have been chased away. The date-stamped 1973 alloy wheels were refinished and wrapped in fresh, period-correct Michelins—because shoes matter.

It also comes with books, tools, service receipts, and that hard-to-define but very real sense of pride you get from owning a car that’s beaten the odds.

Back in the 1970s, BMWs like this were rare sights on U.S. roads, found mostly in the wealthier corners of the country. Many didn’t survive the years—or the rust belt. But this one? This one’s a unicorn.

Meticulously preserved, wonderfully original, and priced well below the cost of a decent restoration.
